Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has directed the Ministry of Health to conduct free quarterly health checks for all citizens across the state's eight Local Government Areas. He gave the directive on Sunday at Saint John's Anglican Church, Olobiri, Kaiama, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, during a special thanksgiving service. Diri said the free medical checkup would help citizens who cannot afford healthcare to access services at all government secondary health facilities in the local government areas. He said the checks should be quarterly to avoid congestion.
