Malaysia and Egypt issued a joint statement on the occasion of the state visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Malaysia from 9 to 10 October 2026. The visit marked President El-Sisi's first state visit to Malaysia. During the visit, President El-Sisi was accorded a state welcoming ceremony and had an audience with King Sultan Ibrahim. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and President El-Sisi held a bilateral meeting on 10 October 2026, discussing bilateral relations including political engagement, trade and investment, and defence.
