Chief of Staff of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Standby Force Pays Courtesy Call on the Nigerian Chief of Army Staff

Brigadier General Sheikh Massaquoi, Chief of Staff of the ECOWAS Standby Force, along with Navy Captain Idenyi Jude Akpa, Commander of the ECOWAS Logistics Depot, visited the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. They were accompanied by staff officers from the ECOWAS Standby Force and the Peace Support Operations Division. The courtesy call on Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, aimed to strengthen cooperation in regional security, defence, operational readiness, interoperability, training, and logistics support. Brigadier General Massaquoi conveyed greetings from the President of the ECOWAS Commission and the Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security.
