Starbucks is reportedly exploring a takeover of Chipotle, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke to the Financial Times. The potential deal would be the largest ever in the restaurant industry and would reunite Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol with his former company, where he previously served as CEO. Since Niccol's move to Starbucks in August 2024, the two companies' stock performances have diverged. While there is some real-estate overlap that could benefit the deal, Wall Street analysts see significant risks.
