A group has called for equitable distribution of oil and gas pipeline surveillance contracts in the Niger Delta region. Fejiro Oliver, initiator of 'Guard Your Pipeline I Guard My Own Movement', urged the federal government to decentralise the contracts based on fairness rather than ethnic considerations. He listed Urhobo, Isoko, Ilaje, Opobo, Bakassi, Ibibio, Efik, and Ogoni communities as those that should demand a fair share. Oliver made the call at a media briefing in Abuja.
