The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State has expressed optimism that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may restore its governorship candidate, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, and his running mate to the list of candidates for the 2027 election. The party chairman in Kano, Hussaini Isah Mai Riga, stated that the NDC had escalated the matter to its national secretariat, which had taken it up with INEC. According to Mai Riga, INEC has promised to investigate the omission and will restore the candidates' status if it is found to be a mistake. The party is now awaiting the commission's response.
