A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced two men arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) to life imprisonment for membership in the proscribed Boko Haram terrorist group. Abba Mustapha and Bukar Ibrahim, both from Borno State, pleaded guilty to charges of membership, providing support for the group, and concealing information about its activities. Justice Salim Ibrahim sentenced them to life imprisonment on the first count and 20 years on the second count. The sentencing is part of the Federal Government's latest phase of mass trials of suspected terrorists, being conducted across several courtrooms with multiple judges presiding.
