A fuel tanker fell and exploded along Oluku on the Benin-Lagos road in Edo State on Thursday, killing many people and injuring 10 others. The incident occurred at about 4 a.m. when the tanker, attempting to make a U-turn near Oluku Market, fell and spilled its contents on the road. Witnesses said residents and passers-by rushed to the scene to scoop fuel from the road and drainage channels before security operatives cordoned off the area. The truck's owner later brought another tanker to evacuate the remaining content before the fallen vehicle exploded, leaving several victims burnt beyond recognition.
