Senator Abdul Ningi has recounted the circumstances surrounding the death of his late colleague, Senator Bello Mandiya. According to Ningi, Mandiya slipped and hit his head in his bathroom, and his body was discovered about 72 hours later at his Abuja residence. Mandiya lived alone, and his absence was noticed when the chief imam of Apo became concerned that he had missed prayers for three consecutive days. Ningi, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time, was informed by his son, who was among those who discovered the body on September 7, 2026.
