A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced two men, Abba Mustapha and Bukar Ibrahim, to life imprisonment for their membership in Boko Haram. The men, from Borno State, were arrested by the Department of State Services and pleaded guilty to charges of membership, providing support to the terrorist group, and concealing information about their activities. Justice Salim Ibrahim handed down the sentences during the Federal Government's latest phase of mass trials of suspected terrorists, which began on Thursday and is being conducted across several courtrooms.
