The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cleared Bashir Abdullahi Gaddafi to contest a fresh primary election for the Akko Federal Constituency in Gombe State, scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026. The party's state chairman, Hon. Keftin Amuga, announced the fresh primary in a statement. This follows a Federal High Court ruling in Gombe on Friday, October 9, which nullified Gaddafi's election as the ADC candidate for the constituency in the 2027 general elections. The court, presided over by Justice Vera E. Ibrahim, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh primary within 21 days. The ruling was in response to a suit filed by Adamu Hassan Kashere, who alleged that no primary election was conducted across the wards.
