Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, conducted clearance operations in Sokoto State on October 15. During an encounter at Waria Forest, troops of Sector 2 engaged terrorists in a firefight, neutralising one and recovering two AK-47 rifles, two motorcycles and other items. In a separate encounter at Sarma Village, the troops killed another terrorist and forced others to flee, abandoning their equipment. Further searches led to the recovery of six additional motorcycles and two AK-47 rifles, according to a statement by the taskforce's Media Information Officer, Aliyu Danja.
