The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has refuted reports that a Corps member in Enugu died from substandard and falsified medicines. In a statement, NAFDAC Director-General Prof Mojisola Adeyeye said preliminary investigations showed the Corps member was brought to the camp clinic with symptoms of severe malaria and a known peptic ulcer disease. The patient was stabilised with intramuscular antimalarial and other supportive medications given intravenously, and placed on bed rest for observation. NAFDAC's statement aims to correct misinformation surrounding the death.
