Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has attributed the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s local government election to adequate security measures implemented by his administration. Speaking after casting his vote in Ukpogoro, Okene Local Government Area, Ododo emphasized that security is critical for sustainable development and urged security agencies to remain vigilant throughout the exercise. Reports indicate that the election was largely peaceful, with significant voter turnout, and officials of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) arrived with election materials at polling units from about 8am.
