Vice President Kashim Shettima said on Saturday in Abuja that he fears divisions within the ruling All Progressives Congress more than he fears opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. He spoke at the unveiling of the campaign head office of Arewa for Asiwaju, a northern coalition backing the Tinubu/Shettima ticket, where he formally inaugurated its campaign structure. Shettima said he was not afraid of the Peoples Democratic Party or of a diminished Peter Obi, but was more concerned about internal contradictions within the party. He also warned northern leaders against pursuing the presidential race at the expense of their governors in gubernatorial elections.
