The captain of a flydubai flight whose co-pilot attacked him with an axe in an alleged attempt to bring down the plane recounted his ordeal in an interview with Sky News Arabia. Indian pilot Smit Machchhar spoke from his hospital bed in the UAE, with his head and one hand bandaged. He described his vision being restricted to a few inches after being struck in the back of the head with an emergency axe by his co-pilot, who had positioned himself behind Machchhar's seat. Machchhar, along with passengers and crew, was credited with averting disaster on the Tel Aviv-bound flight.
