Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya commissioned a 1MW Solar Inter-connected Mini-Grid Project in Talasse, headquarters of Balanga Local Government Area, on Saturday. The project is expected to supply reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity to more than 6,000 households and businesses, supporting economic growth, job creation and improved living standards. Governor Yahaya said the project, flagged off on November 6, 2025, moved from promise to reality in less than a year. He noted that the absence of electricity for over 17 years had constrained opportunities for farmers, artisans, traders and entrepreneurs who relied on costly alternative energy sources.
