The Sokoto State Executive Council approved ₦10.96 billion for the construction of 11 clusters of roads with reinforced-concrete and outfall drainage systems in the Arkilla Federal and State Low-Cost areas of Sokoto metropolis. The council also approved ₦8.54 billion for a dual carriageway from Tsehen Masu through New City Kwasai to the old airport runway. The decisions were reached at the ninth regular meeting of the council for 2026, chaired by Governor Ahmed Aliyu. The projects are aimed at improving urban mobility, strengthening flood control and enhancing residents' living conditions.
