The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has suspended the two-week ultimatum it issued to the Federal Government over the release of funds for implementing the 2026 FGN/SSANU Agreement. The suspension followed the approval and release of eight months' arrears by the Federal Government on October 7, 2026, according to a statement by National President Comrade Mohamed Ibrahim. SSANU had resolved at its 56th National Executive Council meeting in the University of Uyo to issue the ultimatum, failing which it would embark on a total and indefinite strike.
