The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Legacy Group has announced it is cutting political ties with Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Edo South Senatorial District. The announcement was made in Benin City by Mr Ailemen Aluhumele, a PDP chieftain and leader of the Legacy Group. Aluhumele explained that the term Legacy was adopted to honour the memory and political contributions of their late leader, Chief Tony Anenih, and is not a slogan that can be transferred between parties. He said Ogbeide-Ihama, having joined the APC, should no longer use the Legacy Group name or present himself as a member.
