Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr Kadri Hamzat called on African governments and the private sector to increase investment in digital infrastructure. He noted that the continent's major challenge in technological development is not a lack of innovation but the inability to scale successful ideas to reach millions of people. Hamzat spoke at the fifth edition of Texcellence, an annual tech summit in Lagos that attracted international speakers from Uganda, Kenya and South Africa, among others. He also urged African countries to dismantle bureaucratic bottlenecks, establish predictable policies and implement institutional reforms to enable technology-driven businesses to grow.
