Peter Obi Media Office Faults Shettima Over Remarks on Its Presidential Candidate

The Peter Obi Media Office has criticised Vice-President Kashim Shettima over his description of the presidential candidate of the New Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, as diminished. In a statement by its spokesman, Idris Zekeri Jnr, the media office urged political leaders to focus on candidates' records, policies and ideas rather than personal attacks. It described the remark as inconsistent with the standards of political engagement expected of leaders ahead of the 2027 general election. The office also took exception to what it considered a contrast between Shettima's call for Northerners to respect Atiku Abubakar and his description of Obi.
