The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress stated that Peter Obi risks losing his political capital ahead of the 2027 general elections if he fails to demonstrate ideological consistency and organisational depth. APC spokesman Seye Oladejo made the statement in a release titled "2027: Peter Obi and the Expiration Date of Political Momentum." Oladejo said Obi's 2023 campaign tapped into public frustration, youth mobilisation and social media enthusiasm, but noted that riding a wave of public sentiment differs from possessing political depth and national structure. He added that political capital can depreciate when it is not sustained.
