The Rivers State House of Assembly has reversed its earlier decision to declare the seats of three lawmakers supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara vacant. The resolution to reinstate the lawmakers was reached during plenary on Monday. The affected lawmakers are Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo (Bonny Constituency), Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari (Ahoada West) and Hon. Orubienimigha Timothy (Opobo/Nkoro Constituency). The decision followed letters dated 16 October 2026 from the three lawmakers requesting to be recalled amid the emergence of peace.
