Two firms have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged role of Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in a disputed $2.1 million land transaction. The petitioners, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, through their lawyers, raised allegations of fraud, obtaining by false pretences, criminal misappropriation and conversion. The claimants' counsel, Mr. Ibrahim Waru, said the EFCC had acknowledged receipt of the petition but had yet to act on it. The civil aspect of the matter is pending before the High Court of the FCT, and the case has been adjourned to December 1.
