The Osun State Police Command has declared two former chieftains of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Wakili Nurudeen, known as Alowonle, and Olayemi Ojo, alias Sibi, wanted in connection with the murder of Dauda Oyeyemi, also known as Emir. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura disclosed this on Monday while addressing journalists at the command's headquarters in Osogbo, where six other suspects linked to the killing were paraded. Emir was killed on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Mayfair Motor Park, Ile-Ife, by masked gunmen amid a reported succession dispute among transport union members. Zungura said investigations by the police homicide section led to the arrest of two NURTW members, Waliu Adejare, chairman of Aregbe Park, Osogbo, and Hammed Dauda, the park's secretary, as well as four personnel of the Osun State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun.
