Troops of the 12 Composite Brigade of the Nigerian Army have foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued 11 passengers along Kabba-Ayere Road in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 12 Composite Brigade, said in a statement that the incident occurred on October 18, 2026. Troops on routine patrol responded to intelligence about suspected terrorists attempting to abduct passengers in a commercial vehicle and engaged them, forcing them to abandon the victims and flee. Nine passengers, including the driver, were rescued during the initial operation, while the driver and two other passengers sustained injuries.
