MTN and the Gates Foundation have launched a $25 million Maternal Health Multiplier partnership to improve access to quality maternal care for 500,000 women by 2030. The initiative, announced on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, will use artificial intelligence, digital tools, and connectivity infrastructure to address Nigeria's maternal health challenges. Nigeria currently accounts for nearly 30 percent of maternal deaths worldwide, and only 59 percent of women complete four or more antenatal care visits. The partnership aims to transform maternal care in Nigeria and expand to other African markets.
