The federal government has utilized concessionary financing, mortgage support, and risk-sharing arrangements to attract approximately $125 million in private-sector investment for affordable housing. According to the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), this financing model aims to deliver 100,000 housing units without direct government financing of construction and has reduced the effective cost of the Renewed Hope Housing project by about 30 percent. The approach was presented at a continental Public-Private Partnership forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where 36 African countries explored Nigeria's method for attracting private capital for social infrastructure.
