The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has confirmed that there are no regulatory impediments to retired Col. Sam Ahmedu serving on the Nigeria Basketball Federation Board. In a letter dated October 19, 2026, addressed to NBBF President Dr Abdullahi Mustapha, FIBA confirmed Ahmedu's eligibility. The confirmation follows recognition of his decades of service in international basketball administration.
