Pa Reuben Fasoranti, a prominent leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation Afenifere, has died at the age of 100. Fasoranti, who celebrated his 100th birthday on May 11, 2026, was announced dead by Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in a condolence message on Tuesday. The governor described the late elder statesman as a symbol of wisdom, integrity and selfless service, noting that his contributions to the development of Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria would remain indelible. Aiyedatiwa commiserated with the deceased's family, the people of Akure Kingdom and the entire state, and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
