Brume wins gold in long jump at African Athletics Championship

Nigeria’s Ese Brume won the gold medal in the long jump event at the 2024 African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon. Brume is now a four-time long jump champion and has remained undefeated in Africa for eight years. The 28-year-old Nigerian long jump star was in second place behind Burkina Faso’s Marthe Koala who was leading with 6.72m after five attempts. Brume had to dig deep into her wealth of experience, landing a final round jump of 6.73m to land the gold medal.
